Bequia (bek-way), meaning “Island of clouds” in the indigenous Arawak language,
is a tiny unspoiled island accessible by sea and air in the Southern Caribbean.
Measuring seven square miles and with a population of under six thousand,
Bequia is the second largest island in the Grenadines chain between St. Vincent
and Grenada.
With its relaxed island lifestyle, white-sand beaches, a large natural harbour and forested hills this unspoiled island have a unique, magical charm that is hard to find anywhere else in the Caribbean. Don't be surprised if you are greeted with a warm hello as you walk along the street.
Bequia is popular among cruising yachts, ex-pats and tourists. One of the busiest times of the year is the annual Easter Regatta. Some of the things to do in Bequia are diving, hiking and sailing. Drivers drive on the left side of the road. Electricity supply 220V (50 cycles). Currency is Eastern Caribbean Dollars (XCD) $2.70 XCD = $1 USD
